Cost Of Standard Window Installation

The Process Of Standard Installation
The old window will first be removed, along with the stops and sills. The installer will repair the sills and prep the opening for the new replacement unit. This step is the big difference between this and inserts, getting the opening ready for the new replacement (full frame replacement is even more involved still).
From here, the process is the same as with inserts; the new window will be leveled and shimmed and then secured into place with accompanying screws into predrilled holes. The installer will properly insulate the window opening by using a low-expanding foam to get an airtight fit. Caulk is then used to further seal the window edges, placed both on the inside and outside. There may be some additional work on the outside trim such as aluminum capping or other finish work and this can push that per opening cost to the high end of the range we have provided here.
